Visualisation of proposed windfarm from Glynogwr
Latest Information
You may not be aware, Cenin Renewables Limited, have recently applied to Welsh Ministers to carry out works on Mynydd y Gaer, in addition to their proposal to erect 11 turbines .
The proposals include 700m of dug trenches and a substation which is to be surrounded by 'deer fencing', despite there being no deer on the mountain! Like many of Cenin's other application this is basically a 'copy and paste' taken from other applications.
Access to the mountain will be severely curtailed during these works .
The trenches are not small and will destroy habitats of rare plant life, rare fungi and peat bogs.
It is also the breeding season so wildlife will be seriously affected, including breeding bird pairs who currently nest in the area.
It is noticeable that there have already been preparatory works carried out on the Rhiwceiliog side of the mountain that appear to be connected with this development, despite it being only in a pre-planning stage.
Objections to these excavations must be lodged, in writing on or before 11th April 2025 to
