Aims and Objectives:
The aims and objectives of Mynydd Y Gaer Action Group (The Group) are:
1. To raise awareness of the ancient heritage and significance, of Mynydd Y Gaer and the surrounding landscape, including Coity Walia Common (The Area of Concern).
- To raise awareness of the public rights of way and access to The Area of Concern.
- To raise awareness of the potential risk of damage to the landscape, the natural environment, and biodiversity, including damage to peat reserves, from any works or developments on or near to The Area of Concern, other than works or developments intended for the purpose of maintaining or improving the landscape, natural environment, and biodiversity, including damage to peat reserves,.
- To raise awareness to the heightened risk of flooding that may occur, as a result of disturbance or damage, to peat reserves on or near to The Area of Concern.
- To raise awareness of the possible loss of rights of way and access to The Area of Concern resulting from works and/or developments, which are not wholly for the purpose of maintaining or improving The Area of Concern.
- To make lawful representation, by whatever means that may be required, to prevent the risk of damage to the landscape, natural environment, and biodiversity, including damage to peat reserves, on or near to The Area of Concern, from any works or developments, on or near to The Area of Concern, other than works or developments intended for the purpose of maintaining or improving the landscape.
- To encourage the public to support The Group in its’ aims and objectives, to resist any development that may cause damage to the landscape, natural environment and biodiversity, including peat reserves on or near to The Area of Concern.
